Alexander Isak has long been linked with a move to Liverpool.
Many expected the Reds to cool their interest once they signed Hugo Ekitike, but instead, they ended up making an offer worth around £110million for the striker.
This was instantly rebuffed, and since then, it feels like Isak has reached the point of no return with Newcastle, as he’s now refusing to play for them again.

In fact, Isak has also vacated his house and has listed it for rent with a local company, which shows where his head is at.
Gabby Agbonlahor is appalled by the way Alexander Isak has handled the situation
There’s no hiding from the fact that Liverpool still have plenty of money to spend this summer.
Isak has been their number one target for as long as many can remember, and since the Reds haven’t chosen to make a second bid, Agbonlahor has been left shocked by the way Isak has handled the situation.
“Wow, who does he think he is? By the way, who do you think you are, mate? Who do you think you are, disgusting,” Agbonlahor said while live on talkSPORT.
“What that club has done for you, Jesus.”
McCoist then replied with: “By the way, have a think about this, if you’re Liverpool, or you’re a Liverpool fan, is that the kind of person you want to be signing?
Liverpool signing Alexander Isak would be a major statement of intent
Isak is one of the Premier League’s best strikers; there’s no denying that.
And, seeing as though Newcastle haven’t managed to source a replacement for the Sweden international, it’s clear to see why they don’t want to sell.
However, with Isak now refusing to play for the club again and even emptying his house, it’s clear that there’s no way he could be reintegrated into Eddie Howe’s first-team squad.

Indeed, Liverpool have already signed Ekitike to be their number nine, but with both players available for Slot to choose from, it’s hard to see how anyone would be able to match their firepower.
Only time will tell what the future has in store, but for now, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen before deadline day.
