Liverpool have been prepared to pay big for their top targets this summer, but they could try a different approach this time around.
The Reds have spent close to £300m this summer and this figure is only going to rise significantly if they manage to sign Alexander Isak.
They are also in the market for players in other areas of the pitch, although they are keen to offload some stars first to raise finances, not that it is essential.
Certain players struggled for minutes last season and with the new arrivals that they have brought in, they will likely get even less, if any at all.
That being said, there is one player in particular who is attracting interest from abroad, and Liverpool might just be able to use him as part of a swap deal to sign a winger they have looked at for a little while.

Tyler Morton could be used in a swap deal for Malick Fofana
With Luis Diaz departing, the Reds only really have Cody Gakpo as an out-and-out left winger at the club, unless 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha is capable of playing a good amount of games next season.
This has led them to have a look at the options on the market and one name who is being watched by many top teams is Lyon’s Malick Fofana.
The 20-year-old wants to play Champions League football and the French club need to sell for financial reasons, suggesting the Belgian will almost certainly leave this summer.

And, with Lyon interested in Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton according to The Athletic, he could be exchanged in a player plus cash deal to bring Fofana to Anfield.
Lyon want around £51m to let their winger go, while the Reds’ asking price for Morton is between £10m-£15m, suggesting £36m plus the Englishman might just be enough to seal a deal.
Morton was subbed off after just 30 minutes in Liverpool’s pre-season game against AC Milan, although he was brought on again a little later, suggesting that he is not part of Arne Slot’s plans at all next season.
At 22, moving on seems the best for both parties, so why not try and utilise his interest and get a new winger in the process?
Tyler Morton will surely leave Liverpool this summer
Despite shining at the Under 21 European Championships, Morton’s route to becoming a regular starter is blocked by the number of quality options ahead of him, suggesting he should look elsewhere for game time.
He is not short of potential suitors either, and according to the same Athletic report, West Ham are still very interested in signing him.
First, however, the Hammers are looking to offload some players and raise finances so they can make a move, suggesting this saga could go deep into August at least.
Ability has never been Morton’s problem and he was even labelled as “fantastic”, he has just been unlucky due to the size of the club he is at, and with it only growing exponentially this summer, a move is the best thing for his own career.
