Liverpool may have another way to get rid of Darwin Nunez this summer as Euro giants enter transfer race

Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool future has been up in the air since the summer transfer window first opened.

The attacker performed well below par during the 2024-25 Premier League season, which caused questions to arise.

Clubs such as some of the Saudi Pro League’s biggest spenders and Napoli have been linked with a move for the attacker.

But, since Liverpool are sticking firmly to their price tag for the attacker, it seems like clubs are dropping out of the race here, there, and everywhere.

However, that could be about to change after a fresh report on the Uruguayan’s future has emerged.

Liverpool could offer Darwin Nunez in a swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic

As mentioned, Nunez has been attracting plenty of interest over the last couple of weeks, but now, Serie A giants Juventus have entered the race.

Although the price that Liverpool want for their number nine is still a bit steep for the Old Lady to meet, there is another way that a move could be sanctioned.

Since the 2025-26 transfer window opened, Juventus have been trying to offload Dusan Vlahovic to start afresh with their attack.

And, since no other clubs have bid for him or have even made a move for him, he could be used to take some money off of a potential deal for Nunez.

Although Vlahovic wouldn’t take much off Liverpool’s asking price, it would help them solve the issue of finding a suitable replacement.

Comparing the statistics of Dusan Vlahovic and Darwin Nunez

A couple of seasons ago, Vlahovic was one of the most sought-after number nines in the world.

The attacker arrived at Juventus from Fiorentina and instantly hit the ground running.

He’s been the Serie A outfit’s leading goalscorer more than once, and he certainly knows how to find the back of the net.

Last season alone, the attacker contributed to 22 goals across all competitions and, seeing as though he’s only 25 years old, he could still grow into an even better player.

Of course, only time will tell whether a move like this would be possible to pull off, but if it is, it would give Arne Slot another way to get rid of Nunez this summer.

Because, at the moment, it feels like he has no future left at Liverpool whatsoever.
