Liverpool’s Diogo Jota was a truly amazing footballer, but he was an even better person.
The striker joined Liverpool from Wolves back in 2020 and quickly became a fan favourite.
Jota was also Jurgen Klopp’s starting striker for most of his tenure, with the Portugal international having a keen eye for goal as well as the ability to make something out of nothing.

However, it wasn’t just his on-pitch ability that made him who he was; it was also what he did off the pitch that truly showed how good a person he was.
Diogo Jota sent a message of support to a young fan who was struggling
Jota always helped the LFC foundation out whenever he could, with the attacker often appearing in the videos posted by the club.
However, when one Liverpool fan was having a particularly hard time, Jota took time out of his day to send him a get well soon message to try and spur him on.
As posted by Reds supporter Ste Davies on X, Liverpool’s No. 20 sent his son a video message when he was going through a difficult period. Sharing a clip of the video sent by Jota, Davies highlighted how the Portuguese went out of his way to send his support.
“Hello Liam, I believe you are not having an easy time right now,” Jota says on the video. “So I just wanted to get in touch to say you have the support of everyone at Liverpool just as you have always supported us.
“I’m no expert but whenever I’m struggling, I always make sure I listen to the doctors [and do] exactly what they tell me to do all the things they say like eating and drinking the right stuff make a big difference for me whenever I’m struggling.
“So hopefully it will be the same for you, take care of yourself yourself and hopefully we will see you before too long.”
Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva were far too young to pass away
Jota passed away during the early hours of Thursday morning, with his brother, Andre Silva, also with him.
They were reportedly driving around and tried to overtake the car in front of them when their tyre popped, with the car then catching fire.
The Portugal international was only getting married to his girlfriend five days ago, and now, her life, alongside his children’s, have all been turned upside down.
Many heartfelt messages have been directed towards Jota and his family, with Liverpool confirming the terrible news themselves.
Rest in peace, Diogo, you’ll always be Liverpool’s number 20, YNWA.
