Liverpool have already undergone a summer of change at Anfield despite only being in the first month of the transfer window.
The Reds were among the most dominant teams in the Premier League last season with Arne Slot leading his men to the title at the first time of asking.
Nobody expected the Reds to be as good as they were in the 2024-25 campaign, but thanks to the performances of players such as Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch, everything aligned and led the Reds to a title.
And, with the £116million transfer of Florian Wirtz now confirmed, it’s clear that Liverpool will have to recoup some of that money to abide by the Premier League’s PSR rules.

At the moment, only Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips have officially left, but with moves for others such as Jarell Quansah in the pipeline, it’s not a surprise to see a fair few members of Liverpool’s first-team squad on the chopping block.
Napoli’s CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis will not stop calling Liverpool about Darwin Nunez
Darwin Nunez is yet another member of Slot’s squad who has consistently been linked with a move away this summer.
The striker had a below-par campaign once again throughout the 2024-25 season, with Liverpool now looking to sell the Uruguay international.
Several clubs have been touted to be interested in Nunez, but Napoli seem to be the ones leading the way.
In fact, a new report from Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport outlines that the Serie A Champions are ‘focused’ on Nunez and want to do everything possible to take him to Naples next season.
The report also outlines that Napoli’s CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis has been allowed to ‘bombard’ the Reds with calls trying to get them to knock their asking price down so that a deal can be sanctioned.

How much Liverpool actually want for Darwin Nunez
As with the sale of any player from any club, Liverpool will want to get as much money as possible for their player.
Over the last few weeks, several different figures have been shared regarding Nunez’s transfer, but the most recent one to have stuck puts Liverpool’s asking price at around £43million, which is much less than what they were offered in January.
Indeed, there’s still the chance that the Uruguay international stays at Anfield, but in the grand scheme of things, it feels like the Reds have done all they can to get the most out of Nunez.
There’s no knowing what the future has in store, but if Nunez doesn’t end up moving away from Anfield this summer, it’ll come as a massive shock.
