Wataru Endo has reflected on a historic season for both him and Liverpool, thanking Reds supporters in the process.
Signed by Jurgen Klopp back in 2023, Endo has gone on to earn himself cult hero status amongst the Liverpool faithful.
Whether it be his tireless running or selfless attitude, the Japanese midfielder has provided the goods for the Reds whenever called upon.
Endo earned praise from fans for his performance against Chelsea during the back end of the campaign, and the 32-year-old has been keen to return the favour in a message to supporters.

Wataru Endo praises Liverpool supporters
If there was one game to sum up Endo’s contribution to Liverpool, it would be his impressive cameo versus Wolves back in February.
With the scoreline closely tilted in Liverpool’s favour at 2-1, Endo would come off the bench with around twenty minutes to go, and help Arne Slot’s side see out the victory.
Despite not even playing a quarter of the game, the midfielder would be named as player of the match by the Liverpool supporters – a decision Endo admitted left him ‘very surprised’.

“It’s every moment I played. It’s a joy to play football in front of our supporters,” the 32-year-old told the Liverpool website.
“If I say one game, it’s against Wolves [at Anfield in February] I think. It was an important game, and I came on for the last 15 minutes like always and I think I played well, and the fans chose me as the Player of the Match. I was very surprised because I played only 20 minutes or so, but they chose me.
“That game, I feel our supporters they [support] not only our starting XI but also the bench. Everyone is very important for the team. I think the feeling the fans had [is] that everyone is important.
“That game was a really important game and for me a good moment.”

Endo’s Liverpool future remains unclear
Despite his substitute heroics, there are still rumours that Endo could leave Liverpool this summer.
Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have enquired about signing Endo, but it is currently unknown whether the Reds would be willing to part ways.

At 32 years old, the midfielder wouldn’t attract a hefty fee, which almost begs the question as to whether it is even worth selling him this summer.
If Endo is happy to continue with his current cameo role, and Slot rates his impact off the bench, why sell him?
