Champions League club have now directly asked Liverpool about signing £67m player

Liverpool have already had a fair few changes made to their squad despite the summer transfer window not being fully open yet.

Players such as Jeremie Frimpong have made the switch to Anfield, with others such as Caoimhin Kelleher making their way out.

The Reds were one of the most dominant teams in the Premier League last term, but to stay competitive, they need to be constantly looking for ways to improve their ranks.

Hence why, at the moment, the rumour mill seems to be going into overdrive with the Anfield outfit getting linked with a new face more or less every single day.

However, it seems like Liverpool aren’t the only ones looking to improve their ranks as they’ve now received an enquiry for one of their star men.

Liverpool receive enquiry from Galatasaray for Alisson

One of the main areas that Slot has changed so far is the Reds’ goalkeeping position.

As mentioned, Kelleher has now left the club to join Brentford, with Armin Pecsi also being brought in to be Liverpool’s third-choice ‘keeper.

And, as per a fresh report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, more changes could be lined up as the Merseyside outfit have now received an enquiry from Champions League club Galatasaray for Alisson.

“Galatasaray are still actively searching for a top goalkeeper,” he wrote via his personal X account.

“Among others, they have made a concrete enquiry for Alisson a few weeks ago.

“However, he declined — he is under contract with FC Liverpool until 2027.”

Although Giorgi Mamardashvili has been added to Liverpool’s ranks properly this summer, it still feels like he isn’t quite ready to be the Reds’ number one.

Of course, he’s been the main man between the sticks for Valencia for some time now, but the Premier League is a massive step up in terms of quality from La Liga, especially for a 24-year-old.

Alisson was signed by Liverpool back in 2018 for a fee worth around £67million when add-ons are included.

The Brazilian has become the best goalkeeper in the world during his time in Merseyside, and without him this season, it’s hard to see how Liverpool would have been as dominant as they were.

Indeed, he was injured for a large chunk of the campaign, but when fit, it’s hard to deny that he’s one of Slot’s most important players.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what the Reds’ team will look like at the start of the 2025-26 season, but one thing is for sure: Alisson cannot be allowed to leave, especially since he still has two years left on his contract.
