Liverpool have seen huge deals collapse at the very last minute before.
The Reds began the transfer window like they meant business and managed to get Jeremie Frimpong in very early.
Since then, they have been linked with a handful of names and all are said to be progressing well, although fans are still awaiting the final confirmation.
Florian Wirtz is close to joining Liverpool but it is taking longer than fans would like, and maybe even longer than the club would like too.
However, historic deals like this one take time to complete to ensure all the finer details benefit both clubs, albeit a stage that may bore those looking in from the outside.
Although panic was beginning to set in among Liverpool fans, the most recent update in the saga will put their minds at ease, especially to those dwelling on the past.

Florian Wirtz transfer is much different to Moises Caicedo and Martin Zubimendi deals
Liverpool fans have been used to getting their hopes up in the transfer window recently, particularly ever since Martin Zubimendi and Moises Caicedo turned down a move last minute.
Similar panic has started to kick in too as the Wirtz deal slows down in pace, but journalist David Lynch has offered an update that should get everyone to calm down.
βI cannot get my head around the panic over this, it is progressing at a good speed for a move of this size really, we are just talking about minor details being ironed out right now,β Lynch said on the Anfield Index YouTube channel.
βI would be shocked if this third and final bid doesnβt go in and get accepted as Liverpool know exactly where to place this one to get it over the line.
βWe are very close to getting this over the line and a resolution, any comparison to the Caicedo or Zubimendi deals are total nonsense and there is confidence on both sides that it will get done.β
What actually happened with Moises Caicedoβs Liverpool move
Lynchβs update will certainly put Liverpool fansβ minds at ease for the time being, although flashbacks with the Caicedo deal are understandable.
The real reason why Chelsea beat Liverpool to sign Caicedo was also revealed by Lynch on the Kopite Podcast just a few days ago, finally giving fans some closure.
The Reds failed to stay in contact with the Ecuadorianβs agent for five or six months prior to his eventual move, with Chelsea putting in the leg work behind the scenes.
By that point, the midfielder had already given his word to the Blues, meaning Liverpool were just too late.
As for the German, the Reds have been there from the very start and Liverpool actually wanted Wirtz five years ago, proving how this deal is very different and itβs still expected to go through.
