Liverpool fans commend Pepe Reina as Spaniard announces retirement from football
As mentioned, most of the memories created by the Spaniard at Anfield are full of happiness, even if there was a balloon to ruin the fun at one point.
It’s unclear what his next steps are going to be, but at the grand old age of 42, he more than deserves his time off with some Liverpool fans sharing their thoughts on the legacy he’s left behind.

Finally, this fan dubbed the Spaniard “The bald goat.”
Pepe Reina has created a lasting legacy at Liverpool
While the Spaniard was never regarded as the best ‘keeper in the world during his time in Merseyside, Reina certainly played his best football with Liverpool.
The now 42-year-old held down the fort when opposing teams broke through, with the ‘keeper often being a more than trustworthy man to have between the sticks.

His departure from Liverpool in 2014 was a long time coming, with Reina being shipped out on loan to Napoli for the 2013-14 season.
However, the fact that both Martin Skrtel and Lucas Leiva named Reina in their all-time Liverpool five-a-side team outlines how much of an impact he had on the club during that era.
Only time will tell what the future holds, but for now, he deserves to take his first break from football since 1999, when he started out with Barcelona’s C team.
