Liverpool are waking up on Monday morning as champions of the Premier League after blowing Tottenham away on Sunday.
The Reds needed only a point to crown themselves as kings of England and made light of any pressure by winning 5-1.
The result secured a 20th top flight title for Liverpool as they drew level with arch rivals Manchester United in the history books.
For Arne Slot, it was the second league win of his career after guiding Feyenoord to the Eredivisie in 2023.
In Liverpool terms, Slot drew level with Jurgen Klopp on one Premier League apiece after a remarkable first season at Anfield.
And as he basked in his success on Sunday, the Dutch coach revealed whether he’d heard from legendary former Liverpool manager Klopp.

Arne Slot reveals Jurgen Klopp congratulations
Although no one at Liverpool is downplaying just how good Slot has been since arriving last summer, it’s also true that this year’s success owes a lot to Klopp.
The German left behind a superb team and also a culture amongst the players that meant they were completely ready to give it all for the new boss.
Klopp is likely to be present for Liverpool’s trophy lift and it will be brilliant moment to see the old manager at Anfield once again.
In the meantime, though, Slot revealed to BBC Sport after the win over Tottenham that he had a message on his phone from Klopp that was waiting to be read.
“I’m 99.9 per cent sure if I’m picking my phone up now that there is a message from him,” he said. “Actually I’m 100 per cent sure but I haven’t seen it yet!”
“Many moments in the season the two of us had either Whatsapp contact or we spoke to each other. I think he showed last season when he said farewell what kind of human being he is by introducing me the way he did and that of course helped, but the thing that helped most was that he left the team behind that was able to win the trophy!”
Has Jurgen Klopp reacted to Liverpool’s title win?
Although Slot may have received a message from Klopp the former manager is yet to publicly acknowledge Liverpool’s success.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 34 | 25 | 7 | 2 | 80 | 32 | 48 | 82 | |
| 2 | 34 | 18 | 13 | 3 | 63 | 29 | 34 | 67 | |
| 3 | 34 | 19 | 5 | 10 | 65 | 44 | 21 | 62 | |
| 4 | 34 | 18 | 7 | 9 | 66 | 43 | 23 | 61 |
As Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, Klopp is no longer anything like as visible as he once was, so that is understandable.
However, the German does have his own Instagram account these days, and it’s worth keeping an eye on that for any updates.
In the meantime, fans will be desperately hoping that Klopp does indeed make it to watch the trophy lift at Anfield on May 25th.
Having been robbed of the chance to see the celebrations amongst fans when winning the Premier League in 2020, Klopp deserves that moment to close the chapter.
