Ryan Gravenberch’s agent clears up Real Madrid comments after upsetting Liverpool fans

Liverpool supporters may have experienced a certain amount of schadenfreude on Wednesday after seeing Real Madrid dumped out of the Champions League.

Real have been the scourge of Liverpool over recent years, beating the Reds in two finals and knocking them out a further two times since 2018.

It was perhaps a shame that it was Arsenal who were dishing out the beating, but it was cathartic to see Los Blancos beaten nonetheless.

But although they cannot torment Liverpool in the Champions League this season, Real are still likely to upset them in the transfer market.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to join the European champions on a free transfer this summer in a move which has infuriated the Anfield faithful.

With feelings towards Madrid at an all-time low, the agent of Ryan Gravenberch then came out recently to declare his wish to see Gravenberch play for Real. After receiving a backlash from supporters, Jose Fortes has clarified his comments.

Ryan Gravenberch agent rows back Real Madrid comments

Gravenberch has been one of Liverpool’s best players this season, of that there is little doubt.

The Dutch midfielder has started all 32 of the Reds’ Premier League matches and has been integral to what is set to be a league championship winning campaign.

Nevertheless, Gravenberch was not always this good for Liverpool. He has been slowly built up after arriving in 2023.

That’s partly why Fortes recent comments hurt so much. Liverpool should be the ones reaping the rewards of Gravenberch’s revival, not Real Madrid.

Thankfully, it seems as though that will be the case. As per The Daily Mail, Fortes has somewhat walked back his comments on wanting to see Gravenberch play for Madrid.

They claim that his comments were in fact simply the view of the agent himself, rather than being anything representative of the way his client feels. Gravenberch is reportedly going nowhere.

What about Alexis Mac Allister?

Along with Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister has been at the heart of Liverpool’s midfield this season. The Argentine has been immaculate.

Unfortunately, good performances from South American players often lead to links with Real Madrid and Barcelona, as Liverpool well know.

This has been no different for the Reds’ current No.10, with Mac Allister rumoured to be on Madrid’s radar this summer.

Happily, Mac Allister’s dad has pledged his loyalty to Liverpool, claiming that his son is very happy at Anfield and is not planning an exit.

With Gravenberch and Mac Allister hopefully free from Florentino’s Perez’s clutches, they can go on excelling with the Reds for years to come.
