Liverpool are gearing up for what could be their busiest summer transfer window for a long while.
The Reds have been patient in the market over the past two years, preferring to put trust in the players they have to get the job done.
By and large, that has worked out well, with Liverpool standing on the verge of a Premier League title.
But it is also clear that a refresh is needed this off-season. There are several positions in the Liverpool squad which could do with an upgrade.
One of those is at left-back, where Andy Robertson has faced criticism for his performances this season. Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas is expected to be sold, with Robertson dropping down to make way for a new face.
But as Liverpool prepare to ramp up their summer preparations, journalist Graeme Bailey has explained whether Tsimikas could yet hold up their transfer search.

Liverpool certain to sign left-back regardless of Kostas Tsimikas
There has always reportedly been a feeling around Liverpool that the Reds will not sign a new left-back while two options remain at the club. In that scenario, finding a buyer for Tsimikas would feel like a quiet priority this summer.
But according to Bailey, such is Liverpool’s desire to bring in a new signing that they will do so regardless of whether the Greek moves on.
“Tsimikas staying won’t stop Liverpool doing another deal for a left-back, another will be brought in regardless,” the journalist exclusively tells Rousing The Kop.
However, according to Bailey, there is unlikely to be a problem in finding a buyer for Tsimikas. In fact, the reporter says his agents are already on the lookout for a new club.

“I think his people are just assessing the options,” he says. “Obviously, Liverpool aren’t going to force him to go anywhere but there’ll be interest in him. I think it’ll be up to him what he wants to do.
“If he wants to stay in England there’ll be options for him, if he wants to go abroad, which I suspect he might, there’ll be options there as well. His agents are doing their job and looking around to see what the options are.”
Who are Liverpool likely to bring in?
Tsimikas has been a good servant to Liverpool. As far as back-ups go, he has been a very good one.
| Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| 2020/21 | 7 | 0 | 0 |
| 2021/22 | 26 | 0 | 6 |
| 2022/23 | 28 | 0 | 6 |
| 2023/24 | 25 | 0 | 4 |
| 2024/25 | 25 | 0 | 2 |
After hopefully ending his time at Anfield with a Premier League winner’s medal, the time is right for the 28-year-old to find a club where he can play week-in-week-out.
For Liverpool, the focus is on upgrading on Robertson, who will in turn upgrade on Tsimikas as a back-up.
In that respect, RTK understands Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez remains Liverpool’s number one target for the summer.
Other options such as Antonee Robinson and Rayan Ait Nouri are not yet off the table, but Kerkez is the clear priority for Arne Slot.
