Rival supporters have had plenty of reason to be upset with Liverpool this season.
The Reds have dominated across the board in the Premier League, catapulting themselves into an 11-point lead with seven games to play.
With Liverpool having a bit of a tough period recently – losing in the Champions League and then the Carabao Cup final – rivals have finally had something to hang onto.
As the season races towards a conclusion, many of them would likely have been hoping to see both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk exit Anfield at the end of the campaign, too.
But Friday’s news that Salah has signed a contract extension with Liverpool has put paid to that. Van Dijk’s official announcement will follow shortly.
And as supporters all across the land tear their hair out at the prospect of facing Salah for two more years, Nottingham Forest full-back Ola Aina has given a brilliant player’s perspective.

Ola Aina reacts to Mohamed Salah contract
Aina is one of the Premier League’s very best characters. The Forest right-back has become well-known for his colourful reactions to anything and everything.
He also happens to play for one of only two clubs to have stopped Salah from scoring this season.
Nevertheless, Aina was clearly still not happy to hear the news that the Egyptian will get another chance to try next season.
Posting on his Snapchat stories, the 28-year-old provided a reaction that will likely have been mimicked by defenders across the country.
“Has he signed?!” cried Aina, in what looks like the Nottingham Forest training ground changing room.
“Mohamed has signed again? The league is finished. It’s dead. He signed on. Everyone’s in trouble, he’s actually signed on again.”
Michael Owen reacts to Salah extension
It was not only rival fans and players who were reacting to Salah’s big news on Friday.
The 32-year-old is one of football’s global stars, and it seems as though just about everyone wants to give their thoughts about him staying with Liverpool.
That includes former Reds striker Michael Owen, who took to X on Friday to declare Salah signing on as one of the most important moments in Liverpool history.
“The news all LFC fans have been desperate to hear,” says Owen. “Mo Salah has signed a new contract. One of the most important signatures in the clubs history.”
He isn’t always the most popular man in Liverpool, but no one will be arguing with Owen on this one.
