Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah given brutal assessment vs Fulham after ‘non-existent’ performance

Liverpool’s 25-game unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end this afternoon at the hands of Fulham.

The Cottagers were 3-2 victors in west London as Liverpool were completely outplayed by Marco Silva’s side, with Fulham scoring three goals in a 14-minute spell in the opening half to secure a massive Premier League win.

Although Paul Scholes was impressed with Alexis Mac Allister’s strike, Liverpool were far from their best as the Reds missed out on the chance to go 14 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the standings with seven games to go.

And Clinton Morrison was critical of Mohamed Salah’s performance for the Reds, with the winger once again failing to score for Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah ‘non-existent’ for Liverpool in 3-2 Fulham loss

Speaking on BBC Sport’s coverage of the match, the former Republic of Ireland international slammed Salah’s performance against Fulham, with the Liverpool superstar branded as ‘non-existent’ having failed to do much in the English capital this afternoon.

Morrison said: “Calvin Bassey has been all over Mo Salah and Salah can’t handle it. He’s been too strong, got in front of him and has been non-existent. He has had a few flashes in the second half but nowhere near his level.”

With Salah now going four games without scoring a goal, the attacker’s record-breaking form has taking a big hit in recent weeks with the 32-year-old forward looking like a shadow of his former self in recent weeks for Liverpool.

And with Chris Sutton backing Salah to ‘make the difference’ against Fulham, the Liverpool forward will be disappointed with his performance this weekend, especially with the Reds having the chance to go 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

With 27 Premier League goals this season and 17 assists, Salah is still firmly on course to enjoy what could be regarded as the greatest individual campaign from any player in the English top-flight in the modern era.

And with West Ham coming up next for Liverpool, Salah will be on a personal mission to score against the Irons and to end his goalscoring drought and to remind the world why he is arguably the best player in the game right now.

Indeed, Salah has been a key reason behind Liverpool’s charge towards the Premier League title this season, and the winger will want to return to his best in the final weeks of the campaign as the Reds look to wrap up the championship as quickly as possible.
