Mohamed Salah is on course to enjoy arguably the best Premier League season ever experienced by a single player.
The Liverpool winger has already bagged 25 goals in the English top-flight with Salah also on 17 assists in the Premier League, with the attacker set to become only the second player ever in the league’s history to hit 20+ goals and assists in a single season.
| Mohamed Salah’s 2024/25 stats | Games played | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 28 | 25 | 17 |
| UEFA Champions League | 7 | 3 | 4 |
| League Cup | 4 | 2 | 1 |

With Theo Walcott backing Salah to win the Ballon d’Or, the Egyptian international is hitting numbers that would make the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo impressed, with the former Manchester United man one player who could compare to the Liverpool forward’s numbers in the Premier League.
And Mikael Silvestre has now shared what he thinks about Salah being compared to Ronaldo after the Liverpool forward’s incredible season with Arne Slot’s side this term.
Mikael Silvestre ‘not so sure’ Mohamed Salah will go down as the greatest in the Premier League
Speaking to the Khaleej Times, Silvestre weighed in on where Salah compares to the likes of Ronaldo, with the former defender saying: “Mo Salah is without question a Premier League great – a player who can create goals and score them on the biggest occasions and, as we have seen this season, with amazing regularity.
“There is a debate within the game that he is heading for maybe the best single season for an attacking player in the history of the league. Salah has rescued Liverpool at times this season with performances that have either rescued a point or turned a draw into a win.
“He is loved by the Anfield faithful and many of them are saying he is now in the very top tier of Premier League icons. I am not so sure. His numbers are, without a doubt, just brilliant, and this Liverpool team is set for a title win they truly deserve.
“But from my time at Manchester United, I think Cristiano Ronaldo is the Premier League great who sets the standards for the type of player Salah is – a winger who scores goals and acts as the playmaker for the team. And I am not just saying that out of loyalty!”

Ballon d’Or win will secure Mohamed Salah’s Premier League legacy
Salah has hit levels this season in the Premier League that no fan or pundit could have predicted, with the Liverpool superstar on course to join Thierry Henry in the 20+ goal and assist club for a single campaign.
And with Luis Garcia backing Salah to win the Ballon d’Or, claiming the biggest individual prize in football will all-but secure Salah’s status as one of the greatest players in Premier League and Liverpool history.
Indeed, Salah has reached a level of form that is putting the winger on the same level as Ronaldo in his prime, and the forward will want to end the season on the biggest high with a second Premier League title and potentially the UEFA Champions League trophy.
