Ryan Gravenberch has been one of the stories of the season at Liverpool.

The Gravenberch arrived at Liverpool last summer from Bayern Munich but struggled during his first season at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp.

It was uncertain what the 2024/25 campaign would bring for the 22-year-old as Arne Slot’s arrival would coincide with the Reds looking to bring a new number six to the Premier League giants.

Liverpool pursued Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, however, the Spanish star would turn down a move to Anfield in order to remain in La Liga for another season.

The Reds would have likely been interested in the Euro 2024 winner again this summer, but Zubimendi has opted to join Arsenal for the 2025/26 campaign.

Gravenberch has saved Liverpool millions as a result of his development and the Netherlands international looks set to have a bright future with the Reds.

Ryan Gravenberch is the future of Liverpool’s midfield

Being just 22, Gravenberch is the future of Liverpool’s midfield as the Dutch star has made the number six position his own, while also having the ability to be deployed as a number eight.

Slot has relied on the midfielder heavily this season with the former Ajax star featuring in 32 games for the Reds, playing in every single contest in the Premier League.

The stats back up Gravenberch’s importance as the Netherlands international’s metrics have been very impressive throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

It is clear that Slot has improved Gravenberch and there is no longer a need for Liverpool to sign an established number six.

The best route for the Reds is to sign a promising young talent who can develop over time behind Gravenberch and the rest of Slot’s midfield.

The perfect opportunity may have presented itself ahead of the summer and it would be wise for Liverpool to pounce.

Chris Rigg would be the perfect signing for Liverpool

Chris Rigg is a name that is becoming well-known in the Championship as the 17-year-old continues to shine for Sunderland.

According to CaughtOffside, the youngster could be available for just £25m during the summer transfer window with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United all taking an interest in the youngster.

The interest doesn’t stop there as the report states that Chelsea, Man City, Brighton, Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid are all being viewed as potential suitors for the Black Cats star as Sunderland are believed to be willing to sell the midfielder for a big fee at the end of the season.

Rigg ticks all the boxes for Liverpool as the midfield talent is young, has plenty of senior football experience, is an English player, and has a very high ceiling for development.

£25m seems like a very good deal for a player who could be worth double that in a few years but with the competition for the 17-year-old set to be fierce, it remains to be seen if Liverpool make an official move for Rigg ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
