Liverpool enjoyed themselves on Thursday night as they overturned a 1-0 deficit to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup.
The Reds knew they needed a big night going into the game, having been beaten at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in January.
And although it took them a little while to get going, Liverpool soon hit their stride.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou admitted that Liverpool were ‘too good‘ for his team and in the end the Reds sauntered to a 4-0 win.
The victory was topped off by Virgil van Dijk, who crowned an imperious performance with a welcome headed goal.
As he so often does, Van Dijk faced the media after the game to talk up his teammates and their performance. But as he spoke to former Watford striker Troy Deeney, the Liverpool captain was not happy with one question sent his way.

Virgil van Dijk plays down quadruple talk
Liverpool advancing to the Carabao Cup final means that the Reds still have chance at an unprecedented quadruple this season.
The same was true last year, of course. Jurgen Klopp’s team had hoped their League Cup success in February would lead to further trophies down the line, but that never happened.
And with that experience perhaps still in his mind, Van Dijk was left unimpressed by Deeney’s suggestion that four trophy wins could be ‘on the cards’ for Liverpool.
“Finally, quadruple is on the cards and being spoken about,” the former striker asked for CBS Sports Golazo.

“Oh come on!” smiled an exasperated Van Dijk. “I’m sorry, I’m being told to ask the questions!” Deeney hit back.
“By who?!” the Dutchman retorted. “My bosses there, you’re holding the CBS microphone,” claimed the pundit.
“I didn’t know you were listening to your bosses now!” Van Dijk jabbed to laughter from Deeney.
Van Dijk not interested in quadruple
After having a bit of fun with Deeney, Van Dijk did go on to answer the question, but insisted that the Liverpool squad are simply taking things game by game.
“The expectation that we have to manage is to try and win every game ahead of us and not a quadruple or what could be there in the meantime,” he said.
“Every game we play now is going to be difficult from now up until the end of the season.”
“Let’s see, we just have to enjoy the ride all together as a group and with the fans as well. Just worry about ourselves, that’s the only thing we have influence on. I can only say that, I say that to the team and to the boys as well, we just have to keep going.”
There’s a reason no club in English football history has ever won all four trophies on offer during a season. Liverpool came so close in 2021/22, but if they can go better this time around, it would be a big surprise. Game by game, Reds.
