How many Liverpool players could leave before January transfer deadline passes

Liverpool have allowed another transfer window to pass by without significant investment in the playing squad.

The Reds have signed only Federico Chiesa over the past two markets, and two will become three once the 11pm deadline passes on Monday.

But while Liverpool will not make a move to add to the team, there is every chance that some players could leave Anfield before the clock strikes eleven.

Tyler Morton is interesting Middlesbrough as the deadline approaches, although Rousing The Kop understands that a deal is currently unlikely to materialise between the two clubs.

Boro are keen on Morton but the 22-year-old is not desperate to leave Liverpool and the Championship club are understood to be far away from meeting the Reds’ asking-price.

In the meantime, though, while there remains a chance Morton could still leave, he is not the only Liverpool player who could be packing his bags.

‘A number’ of Liverpool players could leave

Although time is quickly running out in the transfer window, there is is still the opportunity for something to be pulled out of the fire.

And according to the Liverpool ECHO, that could include some Reds players being given the boot.

Morton is claimed to be one who may yet make a move, although it’s reported that Boro would need to ‘improve their bid significantly’ to be his destination.

Meanwhile, three more players are named as being ones to watch before 11pm.

One of them is Jayden Danns, who is still yet to officially complete his move to Sunderland.

Danns is said to be one of ‘a number’ of those who could leave, with Kaide Gordon reportedly expected to join Portsmouth and Dominic Corness on the verge of a loan move to League Two club Gillingham.

What’s going on elsewhere?

While Liverpool fans may not be moved to stay up until the window closes on Monday evening, fans of other clubs will not be going to sleep any time soon.

Aston Villa look set to continue their busy month with the captures of Axel Disasi and Marco Asensio on-loan, while Man City are working on signing Nico Gonzalez from Porto.

In one of the more bizarre moves of the window, Juventus have signed former Liverpool target Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle.

There are plenty more bits and pieces ongoing around Europe as clubs scramble to get their business done in time.

As ever, Liverpool will play no part in that, but may be on the receiving end of some late drama yet.
