While other clubs are engaging in transfer window excitement on Monday evening, Liverpool fans have had to look elsewhere for enjoyment.
As has usually been the case, the Reds are set to end the transfer window without making any late moves for new signings.
Another empty window will mean Liverpool have now signed just one player during the past three transfer markets. That is unlikely to go down well amongst the fanbase.
In the meantime, some may be distracting themselves with whatever football they can find following another good weekend in the Premier League for the Reds.
Those channel surfacing on Monday evening may have stumbled upon AFC Champions League action from the Middle East.
And in doing so, they might well have seen Roberto Firmino roll back the years and smash in a superb bicycle kick during Al Ahli’s clash with Qatari side Al Sadd.

Roberto Firmino hits ‘spectacular’ goal
Firmino has not had a brilliant time of things since signing for Al Ahli from Liverpool in 2023.
However, after hitting nine goals in 2023/24, the Brazilian has already equalled that tally this time around.
And the strike which brought him to nine for the season on Monday night in Doha was a special one indeed.
As captured by CBS Sports Golazo, Firmino slammed home a close-range bicycle kick to grab an equaliser for the Saudi side against Al Sadd.
“That’s magic!” raved the commentator. “Spectacular finish from Roberto Firmino!
“The header’s excellent from [Riyad] Mahrez and look at that for a finish from Roberto Firmino. Rolling back the years, the 33-year-old striker. Brilliant finish.”
Firmino staying put on deadline day
Just a couple of days prior to Firmino scoring this sumptuous bicycle kick, the Liverpool legend had looked like he could be on the move away from Al Ahli.
But writing on X on Saturday, German journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed that Firmino is set to stay with the Saudi Pro League club until 2026.
“Been told that Roberto Firmino has no plans to leave Al-Ahli and has not engaged in negotiations with other clubs,” Plettenberg reported.
“The situation will be reassessed in the summer. The LFC legend’s contract in Saudi Arabia runs until 2026, and the current expectation is that he will fulfil it.”
In this kind of form they’ll be desperate to keep hold of him. Great to see Bobby enjoying himself.
