Liverpool’s deadline day has been more active than fans would have imagined, with the majority of the talk surrounding outgoings.

Rayan Cherki to stay at Lyon after Liverpool interest
Speaking to Canal+, Olympique Lyonnais owner John Textor ruled out star attacker Rayan Cherki leaving the French side this deadline day, with the American businessman saying when asked if the youngster could depart: “No! No, no chance!”
Cherki has been linked with a move to Liverpool for quite some time with the £25m-rated France youth international looking likey to leave Lyon at some point this year with the attacking midfielder’s contract due to expire in 18 months time.
With Liverpool scouting Cherki this season, the 21-year-old talent could have been a great long-term signing for the Reds as well as an ideal player for Slot to develop and to transform into a superstar in the Premier League.
However, Textor’s comments on Cherki’s future are as clear as day, and Liverpool will now have to wait until the summer to make a move for the French talent, who could be keen on moving to Anfield at the end of this season.

Who could Liverpool be competing with to sign Cherki?
Cherki has been on the scene for quite some time having made his Lyon debut at 16-years-old and often been regarded as one of the most exciting talents in France having come from the Ligue 1 side’s famed academy.
And whilst Liverpool are interested in the youngster, the Reds are not alone, with Bayern Munich also linked with Cherki as Vincent Kompany looks to add to the transfer successes of Michael Olise from last summer.
Indeed, Cherki’s future will be an interesting one to keep an eye on, but Liverpool will have to wait some before they can make a move for the youngster, who is set to stay at Lyon on this transfer deadline day.
