Liverpool continued their winning run in the Premier League with a professional result away to high-flying AFC Bournemouth.
Mohamed Salah’s two goals were all it took for Liverpool to clinch all three points down on the English south coast, with the Egyptian international crossing the 20+ goal threshold already in the Premier League after this weekend’s performance.
One interesting narrative from the game was the Reds facing off against a number of rumoured transfer targets, with Milos Kerkez believed to be wanted by Liverpool with Antonio Semenyo also on the Anfield side’s radar with the window set to close tomorrow.
Although Bournemouth gave a good account of themselves, Steve McManaman was not pleased with one performance he saw from one Cherry who is on Liverpool’s wishlist heading into the summer transfer window later this year.

Milos Kerkez criticised after poor marking for Mohamed Salah’s second goal
Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Liverpool and Real Madrid star noted how poor Kerkez’s defending was for Salah’s second goal, with the Bournemouth left-back gifting the 32-year-old winger the space to score the decisive goal for the visitors.
Although Dominik Szoboszlai is a big fan of Kerkez, the Hungarian international did himself no favours in how he commanded himself with Liverpool’s second goal of the afternoon, with McManaman certain that the youngster could have done better in the situation.
McManaman said: “The finish is absolutely sublime, but you can criticise the left-back [Kerkez], he should have got tighter, has to go towards Salah to bring him on his left-foot, but he stands with his hands behind his back and allows Salah the space to bend it in.
“You shouldn’t be allowed to do that, as in the defender should be tighter and blocking that, but Kerkez does nothing apart from put his hands behind his back and watching the ball fly into the net.”
Could Kerkez join Liverpool before the end of the January transfer window?
With the transfer window finally coming to a close Monday evening, the chances of Liverpool signing a new first-team player seem next-to-zero, with the Anfield side in a strong position both in every competition they’re competing in and squad depth.
And with Slot himself saying he’s happy with Liverpool’s options, the chances of Kerkez signing for the Reds seem impossible, especially with so little time remaining in the transfer window and how inactive the Merseyside giants have already been.
Indeed, Liverpool’s squad is as strong as it has been in some years, and whilst some signings are needed in the summer, Slot knows he has more than enough in the current team to go all the way in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and domestic cup competitions.
