Dominik Szoboszlai has been a key player for Liverpool this season under Arne Slot and has been particularly great in recent weeks.

The Hungarian midfielder produced one of his best performances of the season in the 2-0 win against Brentford as he showed his class at both ends of the pitch.

Szoboszlai was unlucky not to score against the Bees, but his overall performance was a huge positive for the Anfield faithful.

And now, he has seemingly added fueled transfer speculation involving his Hungarian national teammate Milos Kerkez, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

While things have gone quite well for Liverpool on the pitch, it goes without saying that neither Andy Robertson nor Kostas Tsimikas has been completely convincing at left-back.

While the Scot seems to be running on his last legs, Tsimikas has struggled with injuries and has shown that he can’t be relied upon over the course of the season.

Liverpool are on the lookout for a left-back and Kerkez is believed to have keen admirers at Anfield, with the youngster well-known to Szoboszlai and Richard Hughes, who signed him for Bournemouth.

And now, Szoboszlai says Kerkez is his best friend in the Premier League, fueling claims that the pair could be on the same side for club and country in the future.

“I would choose Bournemouth’s left-back, Milos Kerkez. He looks like me, only a little crazier than me. But he still has time to grow up,” said Szoboszlai via Nemzeti Sport.

Kerkez a no brainer for Liverpool

Liverpool will know all the ins and outs of the Hungarian’s contract due to Hughes’ Bournemouth connection and with the club in desperate need of a left-back, there is an air of inevitability around the Reds making a move for Kerkez in the summer.

Kerkez favours a move to Anfield and could relish the prospect of linking up with Szoboszlai for club and country, while Liverpool’s project under Arne Slot could be the perfect next step for him in his career.

That said, Bournemouth value Kerkez at around £50m, so it remains to be seen if Liverpool stump up the cash for him.
