Liverpool prepare to take on Lille in the UEFA Champions League today as they aim to maintain their perfect record in the competition.

Arne Slot has six wins out of six in Europe and has already secured memorable results against the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid and the Reds lead the way in the table.

Liverpool have already made it through to the Round of 16 but will look to secure another win to ensure that they finish top of the pile.

Lille, on the other hand, have secured some superb results themselves and will look to pull off an upset at Anfield.

And Jonathan David, in particular, will have a lot of eyeballs on him as he continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool and other clubs on a free transfer.

David has already scored important goals for Lille against Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, making him one of the most exciting strikers in world football.

His contract with the Ligue 1 club expires in the summer and he is no closer to signing an extension, indicating that he could be available for free.

Liverpool have already made an enquiry to sign David and with the striker set to lead the line at Anfield, the Reds can get a closer look at one of their transfer targets and decide whether or not they want to make a move.

David has been described as an ‘unbelievably fast’ player by Canada teammate Theo Bair and he’ll definitely be one to watch during the game later today.

The Canadian has been prolific in front of goal and has already racked up 24 goal contributions across all competitions for Bruno Genesio’s side.

With Darwin Nunez facing an uncertain future at Liverpool, the Reds may be in the market for a forward in the summer.

And David could emerge as a perfect market opportunity for Michael Edwards and Co, with the striker a long-standing target for the club and also set to be available on a free transfer.

Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Joao Pedro, while Stefanos Tzimas is believed to have keen admirers at Anfield.

With a handful of forwards linked with a move to Liverpool, David has a chance to jump ahead of the queue with a memorable display at Anfield.
