How much Southampton are demanding for Liverpool target Tyler Dibing after RB Leipzig declare interest

Liverpool refrained from making wholesale changes to their squad in the summer transfer window.

After taking over the reigns from Jurgen Klopp, Arne Slot signed just one player in the summer, which was Federico Chiesa on a cut-price fee from Juventus as he emerged as a market opportunity.

However, the upcoming transfer windows could see the Reds make a few changes to their squad as the Dutchman now has a better understanding of his players.

Tyler Dibling has been linked with a move to Liverpool, but it appears as if RB Leipzig have entered the race to secure his signature.

And now, Southampton’s transfer stance has emerged as the teenager continues to enhance his reputation with a string of eye-catching displays.

Southampton want more than £25m for Liverpool target Tyler Dibling

With Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez, Liverpool are well-stacked in attack, at least for the current campaign.

However, with Nunez facing an uncertain future at Anfield and the likes of Chiesa and Jota struggling with injuries, the possibility of the Reds making a few changes to their attacking firepower can’t be ruled out in the summer.

Liverpool have been described as frontrunners to sign Dibling, who has been one of the few bright sparks in an otherwise underwhelming campaign for the Saints.

However, Florian Plettenberg reports that RB Leipzig have now entered the race to sign the young Englishman and are willing to offer £25m to secure his signature.

He wrote on X: “RB Leipzig want to sign Tyler #Dibling!

“Half of Europe is chasing the 18-year-old super talent from Southampton. RB Leipzig are prepared to pay 30 million euros for the versatile winger.

“Southampton, however, demand much more, partly because @SpursOfficial [Tottenham Hotspur] and other clubs from the Premier League are heavily involved in the race.

“Contract until 2027. At the latest for the summer transfer window, Dibling is one to watch.”

Southampton have no intention of letting Dibling go for £25m and it remains to be seen how much they quote for their prized asset if they reluctantly put him in the market in the upcoming transfer windows.

Dibling’s stats this season

Karen Carney described Dibling as an ‘exceptional’ player earlier this season and the youngster has certainly made his presence felt in the Premier League.

Despite only making his debut in the competition earlier this season, the 18-year-old winger’s outrageous dribbling ability has been on show several times already, while he has also scored four goals in all competitions.

Dibling is certainly an exciting talent and while Liverpool already have the numbers in attack, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise if they make a move for him in the future as he’s a player with a high ceiling.

However, with Leipzig, Tottenham and a host of other clubs also in the mix, it remains to be seen if they firm up their interest in him.
