The January transfer window is well underway for Liverpool, with the Reds set for an exciting and busy month.

Arne Slot’s side have been linked with a number of interesting players, with Liverpool eyeing El Hadji Malick Diouf after a breakout 18 months at Slavia Prague, whilst Wataru Endo is ‘unhappy’ with his Anfield situation after spending most of the season on the substitutes bench.

With Federico Chiesa wanted by Napoli, there’s a real chance that some first-team players could depart Liverpool this month, with the Merseyside giants also in the market to make a few signings of their own if the right options become available.

And one Liverpool youngster is now set for his second loan spell of the season having just returned to the Premier League side.

Calvin Ramsay set for Kilmarnock loan move after Liverpool recall

According to the Daily Mail, Calvin Ramsay is set to join ninth-place Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on a temporary transfer after the right-back saw his season-long Wigan Athletic loan deal cut short earlier this month.

Ramsey was lauded as ‘outstanding’ by former Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin after the Scottish international established himself as one of the most exciting players in the country prior to moving to Liverpool in 2022.

However, the 21-year-old has struggled hugely since joining the Reds, with Ramsay managing just two appearances for Liverpool and since failing to impress on various loan spells with the likes of Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers and now Wigan.

And ahead of joining Kilmarnock, there will be pressure on Ramsay’s shoulders to impress in this half of the season, with the defender’s Liverpool career slowly falling into obscurity after an underwhelming two-and-a-half years at Anfield.

Who else could leave Liverpool on loan in January?

Ramsay is clearly in need of a successful loan move after such an underwhelming time in England since joining with so much hype from Aberdeen, yet the defender isn’t the only Liverpool youngster who could leave on loan this January.

Real Betis are in talks with Stefan Bajcetic over a potential loan move after the Liverpool youngster failed to impress at RB Salzburg, whilst Rhys Williams’ Morecambe spell was extended after an impressive first half of the season with the League Two side.

With Hull City interested in signing Tyler Morton on loan, there could be a number of moves in the coming weeks involving Liverpool’s most exciting young players, who could benefit from departing Anfield on a temporary basis.
