Liverpool fans finally had something to get excited about in the transfer window on Thursday.
Reds supporters have largely had to watch on as other clubs have done plenty of business over the past two recruitment periods.
The one player Liverpool did sign during that time was Federico Chiesa. However, Chiesa has not going at Liverpool just yet, with the Italian making only four appearances during the first-half of the season.
With head coach Arne Slot seemingly not fully trusting him, there have been strong reports that Chiesa is keen on a January exit from Liverpool.
Despite that, after his agent spoke publicly last week, it seemed as though Chiesa is set to stay at Anfield at least until the end of the season.
Now, though, with reports emerging that Liverpool are keen to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, there have been suggestions that Chiesa could be the one to make way for the new addition.

Napoli keen on Federico Chiesa
With Kvaratskhelia surprisingly available this January, Liverpool have brought forward their interest in the Georgian.
However, with six senior forwards already in the Liverpool squad, adding ‘Kvaradona’ to that would surely be a touch of overkill from Slot.
And as the Reds try to position themselves for Kvaratskhelia, Rousing The Kop have exclusively revealed that Liverpool could entertain a swap deal with Napoli,
Chiesa and Darwin Nunez are understood to be two players who could appeal to the Reds in that respect, and according to The Daily Mail, the Italy international is concretely on Napoli’s radar.

They report that the Naples based side ‘hold an interest’ in Chiesa as speculation mounts over Kvaratskhelia’s future.
However, it’s claimed that Napoli are yet to make a formal approach to Liverpool for their No.14.
Liverpool should keep hold of Federico Chiesa
The news that Liverpool are interested in Kvaratskhelia will no doubt bring joy to a slightly transfer-starved Reds fanbase.
However, it’s also true that the forward line is the best equipped area of Slot’s squad just now. Adding to it would have to mean somebody making way.
If that is to be the way things play out, then we don’t think Chiesa should be the man on the chopping block.
It could be handy that Napoli are keen on signing him and it could potentially make a deal for Kvaratskhelia slightly sweeter for the Serie A leaders.
Nevertheless, Chiesa has barely got started at Liverpool and deserves the chance to make his mark at Anfield. Some won’t feel the same way, but we really hope he sticks around.
