Liverpool are in the driving seat for the Premier League title with Arne Slot’s side currently six points clear of Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
Despite missing out on a win against Manchester United on Sunday, the Reds are in a strong position to go all the way for the Premier League title with Liverpool still having a game in hand over their rivals for the championship.

With the January transfer window now open, there’s a good chance for Slot to add to his squad and to bring in one or two players that could greatly help Liverpool in their bid to win the Premier League for only the second time in their history.
Yet pundit Nedum Onuoha has said Darwin Nunez could be a problem for Liverpool in their Premier League title aspirations.

Nunez’s tireless nature actually a problem for Liverpool
Speaking on ESPN FC, the former Premier League defender noted that Nunez’s incredible work-rate could end being a problem for Liverpool given that the Reds do not need the Uruguayan to be like this in their title bid, with Slot looking for goals and assists from the forward.
Onuoha said: “When you think about Liverpool and some of their goalscorers and those who have big impacts on games, obviously Salah is the big shining light when it comes to goals, but also look at the likes of Jota, he’s one of the best finishers Liverpool have had in recent years.

“You see an in-form Gakpo, you see Luis Diaz playing down the middle, you see that the end-product is going to be there, whereas with Darwin Nunez, all the effort and stuff is there, but we’re talking about a team trying to win the Premier League title.
“Effort shouldn’t be your strongest asset at that particular moment, you need the quality there. Would I feel confident seeing Nunez starting Diogo Jota? Probably not.”

Nunez knows he has to show his true quality in the coming months
With four goals and three assists in all competitions, Nunez’s output has been way below what many Liverpool fans were expecting from the attacker going into the season, with the striker simply not up to standard for a club competing for the title.
And with AC Milan reportedly interested in signing Nunez, the 25-year-old needs to start showing Liverpool fans what his true quality actually is if he’s to lead the Reds to Premier League glory and to turn his reputation around.
Indeed, Liverpool supporters and pundits know how good Nunez can be when he’s in a purple patch, and the forward will want to show he can return to that level of form in the coming months with the season starting to heat up.
