Liverpool will look to cement their status as Premier League leaders when they take on Manchester United at Anfield tomorrow.

The Reds have a fantastic recent record against the Red Devils but failed to beat them in three attempts across all competitions last season, which was a bit disappointing for the Anfield faithful, to say the least.

Ruben Amorim’s side are 14th in the table and the Reds can rub salt into their wounds with a big result tomorrow.

And they will be boosted by the return of Ibrahima Konate, who could be part of the matchday squad tomorrow.

The Frenchman has been out of action since the 2-0 win against Real Madrid with a knee injury but could be back in action tomorrow.

Arne Slot confirmed that Konate is back in training for Liverpool, but it remains to be seen if he’s thrown straight into the action.

With Joe Gomez also injured, Jarell Quansah is set to start against Manchester United and the youngster will have horrific memories of the game against the Red Devils last season when he gifted Bruno Fernandes an equaliser.

Only time will tell whether or not Konate features, but the Frenchman was in good spirits in training, judging by the training videos.

He was spotted training a few shots on goal and Virgil van Dijk was spotted shouting ‘Go on Ibou, show me now!’ as his effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

With Konate and Bradley back, Slot has virtually his whole squad available, although Gomez will spend a period on the sidelines due to his hamstring injury.

Federico Chiesa was left out of the squad for the previous game but there are no concerns over his availability, with Slot confirming that his decision was purely tactical.

Rio Ngumoha has also been spotted training with the Liverpool first team ahead of the game against Manchester United, but it’s hard to imagine the youngster being involved in the matchday squad.
