Liverpool and Manchester United are set to lock horns in the Premier League clash tomorrow at Anfield.

The two sides have endured contrasting fortunes so far this season, but form is usually thrown out of the window when two great rivals of the modern game lock horns.

Arne Slot will look to secure another win and rub salt into the wounds of Ruben Amorim, whose side are languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table.

And Chris Sutton feels it’s going to go from bad to worse for Manchester United as he predicted a thumping Liverpool win.

The two sides are separated by 13 positions and 23 points in the Premier League table, which is a sign that they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Slot has been a massive success since taking over the reigns from Jurgen Klopp, with the Dutchman losing just once so far in the Premier League.

Amorim, on the other hand, has really struggled to imprint his philosophy after replacing Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

And Sutton feels the Red Devils will be on the wrong end of an absolute battering as he predicted a 5-0 win for Liverpool.

“The scoreline won’t hit double figures but anything else is possible, and that is me being nice to United,” wrote Sutton in his column for BBC Sport.

“Liverpool should demolish them, and they will demolish them – it is just a question of how many goals they get. United will play for pride, play for the badge and for the jersey and all of that, but it won’t make any difference.

“Liverpool are in a different stratosphere at the moment and I feel sorry for Amorim because this is going to be another painful afternoon for him.

Liverpool team news ahead of Manchester United

Slot confirmed that Joe Gomez will miss the next few games for Liverpool after picking up a hamstring injury against West Ham United.

On the other hand, the likes of Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate are back in full team training, although it remains to be seen if they are in the matchday squad tomorrow.

Rio Ngumoha has been spotted training with the first team ahead of the game against Manchester United, but the youngster is yet to make his debut for the club and is unlikely to be included in the squad.
