Supercomputer predicts Liverpool chances of winning the Premier League title ahead of Arsenal as 2025 arrives

Liverpool have been the team to beat in the Premier League and have quickly become a force to be reckoned with under Arne Slot.

The Reds have won 14, drawn three and lost just once in the competition since the Dutchman’s arrival, which represents one of the best-ever starts to a league campaign under a new manager.

Slot has been a breath of fresh air at Anfield and has already proved in his short time at the club that he’s more than capable of filling Jurgen Klopp’s shoes.

And at the halfway point of the season, a supercomputer has evaluated Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season.

Supercomputer gives Liverpool big chance of Premier League glory

The Reds have lost just once this season – which was a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield – and have played some fantastic football across all competitions.

Chelsea have impressed under Enzo Maresca and Arsenal are unsurprisingly up there, but Manchester City are going through their worst spell under Pep Guardiola, due to which they are seemingly out of contention at this point.

Liverpool lead the way by six points but can go nine clear of second-placed Arsenal as they have a game in hand, with the Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park being postponed due to Storm Darragh.

According to an Opta supercomputer, Liverpool have been given an 89.9% chance of winning the league in 2025, with Arsenal given a 9.5% chance of doing so.

The odds are clearly in Liverpool’s favour but the game isn’t played on paper, so it remains to be seen what happens in the second half of the season.

What next for Liverpool?

Liverpool face Manchester United at Anfield next and will look to inflict more misery on Ruben Amorim’s side, with the Portuguese manager replacing Erik ten Hag at the helm two months ago.

After that, the Reds have cup commitments against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup and Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup, giving them a chance to rotate their squad.

Their next three Premier League games after facing the Red Devils are against Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Ipswich Town, a run that should define the course of their season.

Jamie Carragher feels Liverpool will win the Premier League title this season and it’s certainly looking good for Slot, who hasn’t done anything wrong since taking charge of the club.
