Liverpool put themselves eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table on Sunday with a dominant win over West Ham United.

The Reds made a flying end to 2024 as they edged a small step closer to glory in 2025.

Key to it all was Mohamed Salah, who bagged himself a goal and two assists to continue an unbelievable run of form for Liverpool.

Salah’s first-half goal to put the Reds 3-0 up was his 20th of the season in just his 26th appearance. Remarkable.

In reality, the 32-year-old should actually have scored a couple more on the night. But some good goalkeeping from Alphonse Areola and some poor finishing on Mo’s part meant he had to settle for just the one.

Nevertheless, Salah is clearly enjoying himself in the Premier League this season and according to Kostas Tsimikas, the Egyptian is looking hungrier than ever behind the scenes.

Sunday’s win at the London Stadium was also a big occasion for Tsimikas.

After more than four years at the club, the left-back finally made it to 100 appearances in a Liverpool shirt. Congrats, Tsimi!

To celebrate the milestone, Tsimikas spoke to LFCTV after the game, and was inevitably asked about his good friend Salah and how he has ‘developed his game’ this season.

“I see him more hungry for the league and every competition,” the Greek replied.

“I think he wants to show everybody at this time that he’s the best football player in the world, for me personally he is.

“The things he does on the pitch is incredible, the numbers he does every game and especially on the training ground,” Tsimikas adds. “The work he puts in, he deserves everything and I’m really happy for him.”

Salah breaking his own records

Another game, another Mo Salah masterclass. This really has been an unbelievable season for Liverpool’s Egyptian King.

Having bagged two assists and a goal at the London Stadium, Salah broke Luis Suarez’s record for the most goal contributions in a single month in Premier League history. He has 14.

And according to statistician Michael Reid on X, that was not the only notable thing about Salah’s work on Sunday.

The No.11 has recorded over 50 goal contributions in a calendar year for the second time in his Liverpool career.

Salah hit 37 goals and 15 assists in 2018 to tally 52, while his 29 goals and 22 assists in 2024 put him on 51.

As Tsimikas says, Mo looks hungry to break everything he possibly can this season. Let’s hope he can keep this up in 2025.
