Liverpool cemented their status as Premier League leaders as they secured a 5-0 win against West Ham United away from home.

The Reds made it three Premier League wins on the bounce as five different goalscorers got in on the act in what turned out to be a perfect away trip.

Luis Diaz broke the deadlock and the likes of Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah followed suit before the interval, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota added gloss to the result in the second half.

And West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui feels one of Liverpool’s goalscorers at the London Stadium might actually be the best player in the world.

Salah scored Liverpool’s third goal of the night with a tame-ish effort that should have been saved by Alphonse Areola, but the West Ham goalkeeper didn’t cover himself in too much glory with his effort.

The Egyptian ran the show for the Reds and was in the thick of the action, although it wasn’t his best game of the season as he fluffed a lot of chances to add to his tally.

In the closing stages of the game, Salah made a telling contribution once again as he ran almost the length of the pitch with the ball to tee up Jota, who calmly slotted the ball home for Liverpool’s fifth goal of the game.

Speaking after the game, Lopetegui lauded Salah for his performances this season. He said to Sky Sports: “At the moment Salah is one of, if not, the best player in the world.”

Salah’s stats vs West Ham United

Salah broke another Premier League record vs West Ham as he became the player with the most goal contributions (14) in a single month with his goal and assist tonight.

The Egyptian has been in a league of his own this season and is leaving no stone unturned as he looks to get his hands on the Premier League title for the second time in his career.
