Andy Robertson claims Arne Slot does something ‘unbelievable’ during every single Liverpool game

Liverpool cemented their status as Premier League leaders as they staged a spirited comeback to beat Leicester City 3-1.

Arne Slot has now won 22 of his 27 games in charge of the club, with the Reds seven points clear of Chelsea in second place.

Jordan Ayew gave the Foxes an early lead, but Liverpool struck back through Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah to complete the turnaround.

And Andy Robertson has given an insight into the lengths Slot goes to make the Reds a force to be reckoned with.

The Dutchman started in his usual left-back spot and found himself in favourable positions near the Leicester penalty area a lot as he contributed to both ends of the pitch.

Liverpool started well but were pegged by Ayew’s goal, after which it took a special strike by Gakpo to restore.

The second half turned out to be a different story though as they took complete control of the game and got the job done, indicating that whatever Slot said at halftime to his players worked like a charm.

When asked about how Slot prepares his team for games, Robertson said roles are tweaked every game based on the opposition.

“He tweaks our role in every single game. Tactically he is unbelievable!” said Robertson to Premier League Productions after the game.

“The manager demands more. I don’t think we are quite perfect in his eyes. That’s what we want.”

“You have to play different ways in different weeks. We’ve done that all season. We’ve adapted well. We have to keep doing it. You don’t win anything in December.”

Slot’s search for perfection continues

The Dutchman is clearly getting the results, but he hasn’t shied away from admitting that some of his players need to do a lot better.

Slot urged Curtis Jones to score more goals after his second-half strike vs Leicester, adding that Liverpool need more goals from their midfielders to ease the burden on their forwards.

After the game, Slot suggested he wasn’t completely happy with Trent Alexander-Arnold, although he did admit that it was just a moment or two that caught his eye in what was a largely top showing from the Liverpool vice-captain.

The Reds have struck gold with the Dutchman, who is now looking to get his hands on silverware in 2025 after quickly adapting to life at his new home.
