Liverpool were 6-3 victors against Tottenham on Sunday in one of the craziest Premier League games of the season.

The Reds extended their lead at the top of the table to four points with Mohamed Salah setting yet another Premier League record after scoring two goals and assisting another two for his Liverpool teammates.

With Dominik Szoboszlai thriving in a false nine role for Liverpool, the performance was one of Arne Slot’s best of the season, with Tottenham arguably lucky to have scored three goals, such was the visitor’s dominance.

Yet Chris Sutton believes Liverpool could have done one thing better in their win against Tottenham.

Liverpool told they could be ‘more clinical’ against Tottenham

Speaking to BBC Sport, the pundit noted that Liverpool could have taken their chances better against Tottenham, with Sutton believing that the Reds could have hit double figures in the scoreline had they took an extra second or touch with their opportunities.

With Salah and Luis Diaz both having chances to secure a hat-trick, the majority of Liverpool fans will feel like they could have inflicted a bigger result onto Tottenham had their concentration been greater in some moments against Spurs.

And for Sutton, Liverpool missed a trick by not taking their chances better, with the Reds having the chance to secure one of the biggest scorelines in Premier League history against one of the division’s better sides.

Sutton said: “Liverpool absolutely smashed Tottenham on Sunday with a brilliant display of power, energy and attacking thrust. They were brilliant. My only criticism of their performance is that they could have been more clinical and should have reached double figures with the chances they created.”

What are Liverpool’s biggest wins in Premier League history?

Liverpool are one of the Premier League mainstays having been a founding member of the league and winning the title back in 2020 for the first time, and as a result, the Reds have had some huge results across the years.

Liverpool’s biggest Premier League wins
Liverpool 9-0 AFC Bournemouth – August 27th 2022
Liverpool 7-0 Manchester United – March 5th 2023
Crystal Palace 0-7 Liverpool – December 19th 2020
Liverpool 7-1 Southampton – January 16th 1999
Liverpool 6-0 Leeds United – February 23rd 2022

And it feels almost fitting that four of Liverpool’s five biggest wins came under Jurgen Klopp, with the Anfield side’s 9-0 win against AFC Bournemouth two years ago the cream of the crop for the Merseyside giants.

However, ask any Liverpool fan which result is their favourite, and all will say the 7-0 win against Manchester United last year, a win that will be remembered for decades to come by the Anfield faithful.
