Liverpool drew 2-2 with Fulham on Saturday, with Andy Robertson’s red card the major talking point of the match.
The Scottish international was sent off early on for the Reds as Arne Slot’s side had to play close to 80 minutes against the Cottagers a man down, with Fulham defender Antonee Robinson admitting that Liverpool looked good even with the numerical disadvantage.

Although Chelsea managed to close the gap on Liverpool to two points, few fans will be annoyed with the final result given the circumstances they were dealt against Fulham, with Robertson’s red card changing everything for the Reds.
And Robbie Mustoe has now hinted that the defender’s performance could be the first signs of the fullback become a weak spot for Liverpool.

Robertson could become ‘a weakness’ after Liverpool sending off and mistakes
Speaking on the Two Robbies, the pundit highlighted that Robertson is starting to show signs that he could become ‘a weakness’ for Liverpool after his sending-off against Fulham coupled with some mistakes earlier on against the west London side.
Although Robertson won unexpected praise from Slot for his character after Liverpool’s draw with Fulham, the Scottish international has been far from his best this season, and Mustoe now believes that the defender could become a problem for the Reds if his form doesn’t turn around.

Mustoe said when talking about Robertson’s performance against Fulham: “Robertson, again [disgruntle noises]. Weakness might be too hard a word for Liverpool, a weakness at left-back. There’s been a couple of challenges now and a couple of mistakes.
“He’s been a brilliant, brilliant player, but I’m wondering now if he’s lost that step and is now making a few errors. Maybe I’m out of order, maybe it’s just a bad little period for him, but again, it’s probably cost his team a couple of points.”

Who could replace Robertson at Liverpool?
With Liverpool looking into signing a new left-back, all signs point towards Robertson being replaced next year, with Slot seemingly open to the idea of recruiting a successor for one of the key pillars at Anfield in recent years.
Yet thankfully for the Reds, there are plenty of options out there, with Fulham’s Robinson an obvious pick after the defender was spotted liking comments suggesting he should join Liverpool after Saturday’s draw.
Indeed, Robertson’s time at Liverpool could be winding down after a legendary career with the Merseyside giants, and Slot could be wise to start finding a replacement in the January window with funds available to spend.
