Liverpool secured a statement 2-0 win against Manchester City at Anfield as they continued their dream run of form under Arne Slot.
Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah did the trick for the Reds, who have now lost just once in all competitions under their new manager.

The first half, in particular, proved to be one-sided, to say the least, as the Reds were all over Manchester City like a rash.
And Trent Alexander-Arnold was spotted doing something to the Anfield crowd that really got them going.
Trent Alexander-Arnold rallied Liverpool crowd before opening goal

Liverpool absolutely dominated the defending champions right from the get-go and the first 15 minutes at Anfield was as one-sided as it could have been.
The Reds could have been out of sight as Vigil van Dijk hit the post and missed another great chance to score with a header but deservedly broke the deadlock through Cody Gakpo.
The Dutchman tapped the ball home at the far post after a brilliant pass from Mohamed Salah, who once again made a telling contribution against Manchester City.
Moments before the goal, a fired-up Alexander-Arnold was seen gesturing to the Anfield crowd to turn up the volume as they responded with a loud cheer.
Sky Sports‘ Laura Hunter, who was at Anfield for the game, said live on air: “Trent gestures towards the Anfield crowd as if he wants more noise. They respond. It can’t get much louder.”
What next for Liverpool?
Liverpool have opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the table and negotiated one of their toughest tests of the Premier League season with relative ease.
However, with games set to come thick and fast between now and the end of the year, they will need to be on their toes to cement their status at the top of the table.
