Liverpool face Real Madrid this week in the UEFA Champions League what will be one of the biggest games of the season for the Reds.
The Reds have a recent history with Los Blancos with the Spanish giants beating Liverpool in the 2019 and 2023 Champions League finals as well as eliminating the Anfield side from Europe at the quarter-finals stage of the tournament in 2021.
Although the La Liga titans are the reigning Champions League holders, Liverpool could fancy themselves against Carlo Ancelotti’s side in front of their home fans, with star attacker Vinicius Junior also out injured for Madrid.
And the Brazil international has now sent a message about his absence on social media.

Vinicius slams ‘crazy’ schedule after being ruled out for Liverpool tie
Taking to Twitter, the 24-year-old winger criticised the current schedule for top players, with Vinicius posting shortly after news broke that he will be out to face Liverpool: “The crazy calendar… Time to recover!”
With Vinicius already playing over 20 games this season after a summer where the forward featured in the Copa America, it’s easy to see why the Madrid attacker has taken aim at the schedule, an issue that is becoming more apparent for big-name players.
Indeed, a number of Liverpool’s stars are at risk from suffering from a similar burnout that Vinicius is seemingly going through, with Trent Alexander-Arnold already out injured alongside no. 1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Yet for Liverpool fans going into tomorrow’s game at Anfield, Madrid missing Vinicius is nothing short of huge, and the Reds could now feel like they have a real chance at beating Los Blancos for the first time since 2009.

Liverpool need to face Real Madrid without any fear at Anfield
European nights like Tuesday only come around a few times a season for Liverpool, yet everyone now knows that the beast that is called Anfield will come alive when Madrid come to Merseyside this week.
Liverpool have shown in recent seasons that they can be impossible to beat when Anfield is vibrating and the fans are full on their side, with the Reds expecting a big showing tomorrow against the reigning European champions.
