Liverpool enjoyed another incredible weekend in the Premier League after winning 3-2 against Southampton as Manchester City once again lost.

The Reds came from 2-1 down to beat the Saints at St. Mary’s Stadium with Mohamed Salah scoring two second-half goals to put Liverpool on their way to a big win on the English south coast, putting the Reds eight points clear of City.

And former City defender Nedum Onuoha has now shared if he thinks Liverpool can win the Premier League title.

Premier League title now Liverpool’s to lose after perfect weekend

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the pundit shared how the title is currently Liverpool’s to lose with the Anfield side so far ahead of City, with Pep Guardiola’s side making the trip to the red half of Merseyside this weekend.

With Guardiola also backing Liverpool for the Premier League if they beat City on Sunday, the Reds could soon control their own title destiny if they go 11 points clear this weekend, a result that is entirely possible.

Onuoha said when asked about Liverpool’s prospects of winning the Premier League: “I would be surprised if Liverpool don’t go on and win the league this year because they feel like the most well-rounded team.

“They are getting enough points on the board now to make their task for the final stretch of the season easier. Arne Slot’s ability to problem solve, the physical and tactical side of things, is also helping the side to continue winning and for the players it is easier to believe in a system when it leads to success.”

Man City win will give Liverpool zero excuses to win the title

The Premier League season is barely a third of the way through, but given the lead Liverpool already have over the likes of City and Arsenal, the Anfield side are more than favourites to win the title this campaign.

And another win at Anfield on Sunday against City will give Liverpool zero excuses in their bid to win the Premier League title, a feat Slot will be aiming for in his first year in charge with the English giants this season.

Indeed, Liverpool have what it takes to go all the way in the Premier League, and strong signings in the January market will solidify their claim to win the title and to end City’s dominance in the English top-flight.
