Liverpool refrained from spending the big bucks in the summer but could be active in the upcoming transfer windows.
With Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all approaching the end of their current contracts, the Reds could be forced into action in the transfer market if any of them leave.
And even otherwise, there are a few holes that need fixing as Arne Slot aims to fine-tune his squad.
Liverpool’s attack is arguably their strongest suit, but in recent weeks, AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic has been linked with a move to Anfield.
And Steve Nicol has had his say on whether the Reds should pursue a move for the American international in the upcoming transfer windows.
Steve Nicol fires Christian Pulisic warning to Liverpool

After making a name for himself at Borrusia Dortmund, Pulisic earned himself a big-money move to Chelsea in 2019.
Despite showing signs of promise, it never quite worked out for him at Stamford Bridge as the Blues endured a tumultuous time on and off the pitch.
Pulisic left to join AC Milan in the summer of 2023 and since then, he has got his career back on track.
Calciomercato report that interested clubs need to fork out £50m for his signature, with Manchester United and West Ham also believed to be in the running for him.
Nicol admits he’s torn on Liverpool’s links with Pulisic, describing his potential arrival at Anfield as a gamble.
“If you took away what happened at Chelsea, I’d be a lot more positive about it,” said Nicol on ESPN FC’s YouTube channel.
“But the fact that he didn’t cut it at Chelsea makes it a wee bit of a gamble. If you’re Liverpool, you don’t really need to be gambling – certainly when you’ve now got enough players going forward. So I’m really 50-50 on it.”
Pulisic’s stats for AC Milan this season
At the age of 26, the former Chelsea attacker has finally come of age and started to deliver consistently for club and country.
| Christian Pulisic 24-25 stats | Apps | Goals | Assists | Mins played |
| Serie A | 11 | 5 | 4 | 840′ |
| UEFA Champions League | 4 | 2 | 1 | 329′ |
Pulisic has been a long-standing target for Liverpool since the days of Jurgen Klopp, but only time will tell if the Reds decide to press ahead with their interest in him.
