Liverpool supporters will be hoping for some movement in the January transfer window after a quiet summer.
The Reds had been expected to make a number of moves to help give Arne Slot a boost ahead of his first season at Anfield.
In the end, however, Liverpool chose to sign only Federico Chiesa as they decided to push ahead largely with what they already had.
So far that has not proven to be a problem. Slot has gotten the most out of the Liverpool squad and has them looking good for a Premier League title challenge.
However, a mid-season addition or two would still be warmly greeted by supporters.
With that in mind, one of the players being most heavily linked with Liverpool ahead of the winter window is Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush. And German journalist Christian Falk has detailed whether Marmoush could be coming to Merseyside in the New Year.

Liverpool made to wait for Omar Marmoush
Marmoush has been tipped as a Mohamed Salah successor following a stunning start to the campaign for Eintracht.
After notching 14 goals and 10 assists in just 16 appearances, the 25-year-old is one of only two players in Europe’s top five divisions to hit double figures for goal and assists this term. The other? Salah himself.
The appeal of bringing Marmoush in for around £50m to bolster the Liverpool attack mid-season is clear, but according to Falk, it is unlikely to happen.
“It should be remembered that there’s a big link between Marmoush and Liverpool,” the reporter writes for The Daily Briefing.

“It would be a big dream for the player to move to Anfield, especially because of the presence of Mohamed Salah.
“He would love to be Salah’s successor should his compatriot leave the club – it would mean a lot in his home country.
“Initial talks have already taken place with the Reds over a 2025 move,” adds Falk. “Other English clubs are also in the running but Marmoush wants to stay at Frankfurt until the summer – after that, a transfer is possible.”
No attacker needed for Liverpool this winter
While we do feel that there is a demand for a new signing at Liverpool in January, we’re not sure that an attacker would be the best use of funds.
The one addition that the Reds did make over the summer – Chiesa – was a forward. Once the Italian and Diogo Jota are back fit there is simply no room for someone like Marmoush.
Instead, if Liverpool are looking at bringing a new player in, then it would perhaps be best to target another midfielder.
Liverpool continue to be linked with Martin Zubimendi and the Real Sociedad schemer would look like the kind of signing who could elevate the Reds for the remainder of the year.
Marmoush is a fine player and it’ll be fascinating to see whether he does end up at Liverpool at the end of the campaign. For now, though, the Reds’ focus should rightly be elsewhere.
