Liverpool are slowly running out of time as they look to secure the futures of three of their most important players.
While things have been going swimmingly for the Reds on the pitch so far this season, talk of their ongoing contract problems have dominated talk off it.
Somehow, Liverpool have put themselves in a position where they are six months away from waving goodbye to Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Three Liverpool legends could walk out of the Anfield exit door for nothing next summer. These are nervous times for supporters.
All three situations are different, with each player bringing their own special set of circumstances.
And as fans wait for any news at all on whether the three stars will remain in the Liverpool squad beyond the end of the season, it looks like they may not have to hold on for much longer in regards to Van Dijk.

Virgil van Dijk virtually certain to stay at Liverpool
Liverpool supporters will each have their own opinions on which of these three players is the most important to keep.
Nevertheless, the common consensus is that every one of them is still completely crucial to this Liverpool team.
Having not missed a minute across 15 Premier League and Champions League matches so far this term, there is perhaps no one that relates to more than Van Dijk.
And, thankfully, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Liverpool captain is now ‘almost certain’ to be staying with the Reds beyond the end of the current campaign.

“I’m told that it’s a matter of when Van Dijk signs rather than if,” Bailey exclusively tells Rousing The Kop.
“They just need to work out the details, is it one year, is it one with an option, is it two, is it more. It’s almost certain that he’s at Anfield next season, I think it’s 99 per cent certain.
“He wants to stay, the club want him to stay, Slot wants him to stay, you’ve got all three things with a tick in Van Dijk’s box which you perhaps haven’t yet with Trent and Salah. Two out of three isn’t enough.”
What about the Alexander-Arnold and Salah?
While RTK understands that Liverpool see Van Dijk’s as the easiest situation to resolve, talks remain ongoing with both Alexander-Arnold and Salah, too.
It’s understood that Alexander-Arnold has an offer on the table from Liverpool which would make him the highest paid English player in the Premier League.
In the meantime, Real Madrid are understood to be continuing checks into Alexander-Arnold but do not necessarily have the 26-year-old as their number one choice at right-back.
In terms of Salah, RTK understands that Liverpool are comfortable for contract negotiations to continue into the New Year, with the Reds happy that the Egyptian will not sign a pre-contract elsewhere.
It’s understood that Arne Slot’s arrival at Liverpool has improved relations with Salah and the club as a whole and that the Egyptian is still completely open to staying at Anfield.
