Bundesliga club could soon be tempted to sell ‘one of their most valuable players’ and Liverpool want him

With no football to focus on during the international break for Liverpool, transfers have started to take centre-stage again.

The Reds have been sensational up to this point of the season, but there’s little doubt that one or two January signings would put them in a stronger position.

Liverpool did little business over the summer as they allowed Arne Slot to get to know the players already at his disposal.

But Slot will by now have an excellent grasp over the Liverpool squad. The Dutchman will know its character, its strengths and where it could do with improving.

In many Liverpool supporters’ minds, the Reds’ midfield is still an area that is in need of some attention.

With that in mind, Liverpool have been linked with Hugo Larsson of Eintracht Frankfurt. And according to German journalist Christian Falk, there could be a deal to be done over Larsson.

Hugo Larsson set for summer sale

There have been suggestions over recent days that Liverpool are in talks over a January move for Larsson.

However, according to Falk, there is little to no chance of a mid-season transfer taking place. Writing for The Daily Briefing, the reporter insists that the 20-year-old will not be going anywhere until the end of the campaign.

“We have to see what happens in the summer,” says Falk. “Hugo Larsson is one of the most valuable players in the Frankfurt squad.

“Yes, there shall be interest from many Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham. All of them are keeping an eye on the player. He’s a very humble guy and he doesn’t want to make all these quick steps, as he wants to make careful, considered decisions about his future.

“He gave an interview recently where he said he’s enjoying his time at Frankfurt and wants to make the journey with the club,” he continues. “He’s very honest in this point and clever enough to know that a January transfer wouldn’t necessarily be the best move for his career.

“It’s good he’s on the list of these clubs, but also they don’t need him now – he’s not such an experienced professional that he would immediately help someone in January. He would be an interesting option in the summer and Frankfurt isn’t such a big club that they wouldn’t sell him if a good offer came in.

“He has no release clause and has signed a new contract (keeping him at Frankfurt until June 2029), so everyone will have to wait. He is a topic for the Premier League, but not in the winter.”

Liverpool are big admirers of Eintracht Frankfurt

At this point, Liverpool may as well set their scouts up with a permanent base in Frankfurt.

The German side have a really talented team, with Omar Marmoush definitely on Liverpool’s radar, as well as several of his teammates.

Back in April, journalist Fabrizio Romano explained that Liverpool are heavily scouting Eintracht and are impressed by a number of their players.

Although none were subsequently signed during the summer window, it appears that it may not be long before Liverpool do pull the trigger.

When they do, Larsson is certainly an interesting candidate, as is Marmoush.

As Liverpool look to improve all areas of the squad under Slot, bringing in both is not beyond the realms of fantasy next year.
