Liverpool were rather quiet in the summer transfer window with just the two senior signings, yet January is lining up to be quite something for the Reds.

Arne Slot’s side sit top of the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League standings heading into the November international break, with Liverpool showing no signs of slowing down with the festive period around the corner.

One thing the Anfield side are seemingly weighing up is moves in the January window, with Liverpool already linked with the likes of LOSC Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi, as the Reds eye a midfielder and central defender.

And Liverpool are now keeping tabs on another exciting European-based talent.

Liverpool join race for PSV Eindhoven striker Ricardo Pepi

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have joined the crowded competition for PSV Eindhoven attacker Ricardo Pepi, with the USA international catching the eye this season with the Dutch giants.

As per the report, Pepi could be available for just €25m (£20m) after an impressive start to the season with the reigning Eredivisie champions, with the 21-year-old scoring seven goals and assisting another in all competitions.

Noted by Eredivisie Analysis as ‘the best in the business’ when it comes to scoring non-penalty goals, Pepi has made quite a name for himself in the Netherlands since making the move to PSV, with the likes of Liverpool now interested.

And heading into 2025, there’s a real chance that Pepi could end up signing for the Reds considering what unique skills the former FC Dallas wonderkid brings to the table, with the attacker someone who could thrive in the Premier League.

Pepi could become Liverpool’s answer to Jhon Duran

Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran has been one of the stars of the season in the Premier League, with the Colombia international making a name for himself with his goalscoring heroics from the bench for Unai Emery’s side.

And in Pepi, Liverpool could have their own answer to Duran, with the PSV attacker regarded as a super-sub for the Dutch giants having made just five starts in the past two seasons since joining the Champions League regulars.

With 45 appearances from the bench and 15 goals and four assists, Liverpool could have their own super-sub the likes of which the Reds haven’t seen in some time, and Pepi’s age and style of play could make the striker perfect for Slot in 2025.
