After 17 games in charge of the club across all competitions, it’s safe to say Arne Slot has taken Liverpool by storm since replacing Jurgen Klopp at the helm.
While it initially looked like the Anfield faithful would take a bit of time to move on from the German, Slot’s side have let their football do the talking as they find themselves at the top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League table.

The ongoing international break is a good time to reflect on how the season has gone so far.
And for the Dutchman, in particular, he’ll feel like he has already achieved what he set out to do in his first-ever press conference as Liverpool boss.
Liverpool have let their football do the talking under Arne Slot

With 15 wins, a loss and a draw from 17 games across all competitions, Slot has enjoyed the best-ever start of any Premier League manager in history, sitting ahead of Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti at the top of a decorated list.
While he has already shown that he’s more than capable of building on Klopp’s legacy, their personalities are quite different, to say the least.
The German proclaimed himself as the ‘Normal One’ in his first-ever press conference and immediately endeared himself to the Liverpool fans with his charisma and way with words.
Slot, on the other hand, claimed in his first press conference that his primary focus was on winning games for his new club and not much else.
“It takes some time to understand everything but the way I’m going to use my time in the upcoming weeks is, of course, to make the team in the best possible way and the players in the best possible way for us to be ready for the first game.
“It always helps if you get to know the city but I think as a manager, and everybody knows, it helps even more if you win most of your games.”
What next for the Liverpool boss?
With almost a third of the season done, it’s safe to say Slot has already achieved what he set out to do on his first day at the club – put together a winning run to get the fans on his side.
Liverpool are playing some fantastic football in the final third and looked assured defensively, which is a sign that their new manager is covering all bases on the training ground.
The Anfield faithful chanted his name after the 2-0 win against Aston Villa ahead of the international break.

With club football taking a back seat for a couple of weeks, the time is right for Slot to go around the city and get to know his new home better, as he claimed he’d do earlier in the season.

“I think with Jürgen it was a combination of getting to know the city, getting to know the style of play the fans like,” continued Slot.
“I don’t want to take words out of Richard’s mouth but I think one of the reasons why he came to me was that our playing style is not so much different.
“We both like the fans to come into the stadium and see a team that plays with a lot of energy, that plays good football. I think that is the thing that I’m focused on most.
“If we do that in the best possible way, that probably will give me some time as well and if I have time then I can get to know the city a bit better. It all starts with improving the team and winning as many games as we can.
