Liverpool head into the international break at the top of the Premier League after their 2-0 win against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Konate started at the heart of the Liverpool backline alongside Virgil van Dijk and produced another fantastic display to help his side to three points and a clean sheet.

Slot claimed Konate is still underrated after his magnificent performance against Arsenal, but in recent weeks, the Frenchman has gotten his flowers as he continues to impress for club and country this season.

Mac Allister, on the other hand, has also fared quite well under the new manager, although he has yet to hit the heights of last season.

Both players were named in the starting XI against Villa and were chosen to speak to the media after the game.

As seen in Liverpool’s Inside Anfield video, Konate was spotted telling Mac Allister that he was ‘so bad’ in the game, although the pair quickly broke into a fit of laughter and enjoyed a lovely embrace after.
