Liverpool head into the international break five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table after their 2-0 win against Aston Villa.

And Alan Hutton has lavished praise on one such Liverpool player who he believes has performed consistently this season.

After Martin Zubimendi rejected a move to Anfield, Slot opted against pursuing an alternative, instead opting to give the Dutchman a chance.

You could call it beginner’s luck, but Slot’s decision is paying dividends in some style as Gravenberch looks like a completely new player this season.

Speaking after Liverpool’s win against Aston Villa, Hutton feels the 24-year-old midfielder is still flying under the radar despite his consistent displays for the club.

“That guy is outstanding. At times, he flies under the radar, but the job that he does is quite incredible,” said the former Aston Villa defender on TNT Sports.

“Week on week you just see him growing in stature, his quality is obviously there. Perfect.”

Gravenberch’s stats this season

Gravenberch also earned praise from Edgar Davids for his performances this season, which is a huge sign that he’s heading in the right direction for club and country.

The midfielder has started every Premier League and UEFA Champions League game under Slot and is growing in stature with each game.

Liverpool are well and truly in the title race and will hope Gravenberch sustains his rich vein of form in the coming weeks and months.
