January is fast approaching as Liverpool prepare their plans for the rest of the season.

The Reds have so far been vindicated in their decision to do little business over the summer, with Arne Slot’s current squad exceeding expectations so far.

However, the mid-point of the season represents another chance for Liverpool to get their ducks in a row.

With the Reds looking good for a trophy push this term, making the right decisions in January regarding the Liverpool squad could prove to be crucial.

Part of that decision-making process will be to assess those Liverpool players currently out on-loan away from Anfield.

And with the window’s opening now less than two months away, a call has reportedly already been made on one of Liverpool’s loan army.

Fabian Mrozek set for Liverpool return

Sending players from the Liverpool academy out on-loan is always a delicate business.

The right spell at the right club can propel a young player into the senior Reds squad. Just ask Harvey Elliott or Conor Bradley. But get things wrong, and a promising career can quickly start to unravel.

The position that is perhaps the hardest to plan for is goalkeeper. It can be hard to find a club at a good level who are willing to put the trust needed in a young ‘keeper to continue his development.

For 21-year-old Reds shot-stopper Fabian Mrozek, it looked like Liverpool may have found that club in Swedish top division side IF Brommapojkarna.

However, after starting five Allsvenskan matches, Mrozek has not been on the pitch since August 25th. And according to Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt, the Pole will not play again.

The Swedish season actually has just one game left to play and it’s claimed that after that, Mrozek will return to Liverpool. Brommapojkarna reportedly have ‘no will’ to extend the goalie’s stay into their next season and it’s said that there will be ‘no dialogue’ with Liverpool to that effect.

It’s claimed that the Reds will assess Mrozek’s situation upon his return and decide whether to send him out for another loan spell between January and May.

Fabian Mrozek endures difficult loan spell

Mrozek is obviously a long way from the Liverpool team at the moment. The Reds have a stunningly good goalkeeping department.

As well as the three ‘keepers to have played first-team football this season, Harvey Davies is looking like an excellent prospect, too.

Nevertheless, when Mrozek returns, there is an argument that Vitezslav Jaros could do with a loan spell in order to continue his development.

Should that happen, then perhaps Mrozek can muscle his way into being third choice back at Anfield.

Although he only made five appearances for Brommapojkarna, the Polish youngster was always due to return in January, that was the plan when his loan was sealed.

Liverpool will have wanted more from this spell for Mrozek, but they were always set to bring him back and assess in the winter.
