Liverpool enjoyed one of their best European performances in some time with a 4-0 demolition job against Bayer Leverkusen.
Four goals in the second-half saw the Reds run riot against Xabi Alonso’s side in the UEFA Champions League, with Liverpool going top of the league phase having now won their first four games of this season’s competition.
With Luis Diaz and Curtis Jones impressing the most for Liverpool, it was a great night for the Anfield side, who under Arne Slot again showed their credentials as challengers for the Champions League having gone top of the Premier League on Saturday.
And Stephen Warnock was blown away by what he saw from one Liverpool player against Leverkusen.

Diaz lauded after ‘killer’ touches for Liverpool vs Leverkusen
Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, the pundit lauded Diaz after a series of ‘killer’ touches from the Liverpool winger, who scored a hat-trick against Leverkusen in what was an exceptional display from the forward.
With Diaz playing in the no. 9 role for the first time, the 27-year-old attacker looked like a complete natural in the position, with the £50m signing from FC Porto potentially unlocking a new aspect to his game.
And the role change suited Diaz perfect against Leverkusen, with Warnock in awe by what he saw from the Colombia international and how good the forward was on the ball in the final third.
Warnock said: “Luis Diaz’s ability to take the most killer of touches in tightest of spaces in the six-yard box. He kills it and then rolls the ball into the bottom corner. A player riding so very high on confidence.”

How good was Diaz’s performance against Leverkusen?
Diaz has been exceptional for Liverpool this season, with the winger making the left-forward position his own and taking to Slot’s attacking tactics like a duck to water.

And as per Diaz’s stats against Leverkusen, the Colombia international was nothing short of breathtaking against the reigning Bundesliga champions, with the 27-year-old enjoying arguably his best game yet for Liverpool.
Indeed, Diaz is hitting his peak form at Liverpool, and the former Porto star could play a huge role in the Reds winning silverware this season in what would be a huge accomplishment for Slot.
