Liverpool maintained their superb Champions League run under Arne Slot with a 4-0 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen.
Xabi Alonso was back at Anfield for the match, but the Liverpool legend was forced to leave empty-handed.
Luis Diaz scored a fantastic hat-trick for the hosts, with Cody Gakpo also on target as they went top of the Champions League table.
It was a somewhat nervy first half for Slot and his players, with Liverpool failing to get going in the opening 45 minutes.
Anfield was also unusually quiet for the European clash under the lights, with the Reds players struggling to trouble their opponents.

Alonso did his best to quieten Anfield, which he certainly did, but that was brought to an abrupt end with Diaz’s opener in the 61st minute.
The Colombian latched on to a stunning through ball from Curtis Jones, with that sequence really impressing former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock.

“We said it might take a moment of individual brilliance to open the scoring, but it has taken two,” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“The ball from Curtis Jones is excellent, but the finish from Luis Diaz is even better. To sit the goalkeeper down and dink it over him, at the speed at which he is moving, is quite sensational.”
Arne Slot given headache after Bayer Leverkusen thrashing
It truly was a second-half display for the ages from Liverpool, who burst into life after Diaz’s phenomenal chipped opener.
Slot will be thrilled with the result and second-half performance, but it will also give him a welcome headache for next time out.
He brought Diaz and Jones back into the starting XI for the Champions League clash, with that decision paying dividends on the hour mark.

And such rotation is very likely to continue when Aston Villa visit Anfield on Saturday, but several other players impressed alongside Diaz and Jones.
The Colombian is perhaps undroppable after his hat-trick, but Gakpo and Mohamed Salah also shone, with the Egyptian clinching two assists against Leverkusen.
