Mohamed Salah was once again the Liverpool hero as he scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Brighton.
Salah messaged the Liverpool fans after his match-winning goal, with Cody Gakpo having scored the equaliser after Brighton went ahead at Anfield.
But very worryingly for Arne Slot and Liverpool, Salah’s current contract will expire at the end of the season.
Moreover, Salah is wanted by Saudi Arabian clubs, who may just be able to persuade the winger to leave Merseyside.
He remains a key player for Slot and the Reds, but his time in England is seemingly rapidly coming to an end.

Ally McCoist predicts if Mo Salah will sign a new Liverpool contract
Salah’s contract situation has now sparked a discussion on talkSPORT, with Jeff Stelling asking for Ally McCoist’s opinion on the matter.
“Not everybody is driven by money, he’s a squillionaire, he’s got adulation at Anfield, surely he will want to stay?” Stelling posed to McCoist.
The latter replied: “I would think so. There’s no getting away from it, without any doubt, no shadow of doubt, you’re thinking if it’s a career move, he stays, he signs an extension. Now clearly we don’t know the ins and outs of the talks, whether they can’t come to terms with the length of contract or the financial agreement within the contract, that’s clearly none of our business.

“But there’s something holding it up, that’s for sure. And I’ve said to you, I have said on this show for weeks and weeks and probably months and months, it shouldn’t have been allowed to happen. When you’ve got three top, top players, the spine of your club you could argue, all running their contracts up at the end of the year going into the final season, it’s not good. It’s not good.
“And Liverpool at this point in time, new coach in, they’re probably pinching themselves how well it’s going, the transformation has been seamless, the hiccup at home to Forest aside, the results have been marvellous, absolutely marvellous. But this will not go away until a decision has been made either way.”
Arne Slot needs Mohamed Salah for Liverpool success
Every single Liverpool fan will be desperate for Salah to extend his time at Anfield, with the attacker having been one of their star men since his arrival in 2017 for just £34million.
He has exceeded expectations thanks to his stunning goals and assists tallies, with Salah often single-handedly winning games for the Reds.
It is not a scenario that the Anfield faithful will want to even think about at this moment in time, but there is a very real possibility that he will not be at the club next season.

Beyond that, more fear and worry will come given that it will be an impossible task to replace him given his success on the pitch.
All Liverpool supporters will simply be hoping that talks are ongoing behind the scnes and are indeed successful, with Slot needing Salah if he is to enjoy early success in England.
